It took us a while to find Cap Blanc, the very southern tip of the Nouadhibou spit.
There was an 8km unmarked track through the sand which was pretty rough on us and Lenny, but worth it when we found the 1950s lighthouse.

Cap Blanc is a reserve to protect the Monk Seal population which is only found here and has fallen to around 100.

Although we didn’t spot any seals, we were given information on the area and the efforts to protect the seals by the guide/warden who showed us around the small museum.

We now understand why many people wrap their heads and faces, the sun, sand, wind and flies make it a pretty harsh environment.

Now I know the trainee driver is photogenic 😜 but need to see more of you me dear xx
Too many greys already 😞
