We were sad to leave the lovely Zebra campsite in Ouzoud for the drive south to Essaouria, a small resort town on the coast.
The journey was an interesting one, it became hotter and drier, we passed several dry river beds and more desert-like landscape.
We were also excited to find the famous goats in trees, apparently they eat the fruit of Argan trees.

There were many ‘cooperatives feminin’ producing Argan oil products in this area.
We enjoyed an evening stroll along the wide bay of Essaouria and through the bustling but well- organised Medina.

A great place to spend the last day of the decade. Happy New Year everyone!

Hey, check out the Old Tea Merchants House in Essaouria… We stayed there when Ella was about 2 – ramshackle, built round a central courtyard, but very characterful…! Enjoy – and loved the tree climbing goats! HNY!
