Pre trip: driving Lenny

Yesterday was a very exciting day which made our trip real.

We collected Lenny from his previous owner in Brighton and drove him to Hereford where he’s lodging at Overlander Cruisers, specialist Landcruiser repair workshop.

His previous owners took Lenny around Africa in a year long trip in 2017-18 and gave us masses of information, advice and tips about Lenny but also more generally about travelling through Africa.

Here’s Lenny, beautifully parked in the magnificent surrounds of a service station in Newbury.

To be honest the first few miles driving Lenny out of Brighton were not relaxing as the extra width and height took some getting used to.

By the time we’d arrived in Hereford, I was enjoying the view from up high, adjusting to the width and sort of understanding how 4×4 drivers might be bullies, whilst of course never succumbing to such behaviour myself.
