We’ve been planning this trip for a long time and now it’s just six months away we are getting serious with mapping it all out.
Brushing up on our Francais as that’s the most useful language along the west coast.
Also finding lots of forums of people who’ve done the trip before or are en route with info on how they’ve sorted out visas and insurance and all that fun stuff.
Also mapping apps like iOverlander and Tracks4Africa which show amazing levels of detail, down to whether roads are tarmac or gravel. Also petrol stations, campsites and wild camping spots.
The Tracks 4 Africa map above shows the area around Tanger and what might be our first camping stop on the continent.
So we’ve got a rough itinerary, setting off from London on Sunday 15th December and aiming to arrive in Cape Town by the first week of June 2020.
