Pre trip: finding Lenny

After a bit of a search on eBay and a trip to Hereford to view a vehicle, which didn’t work out, we found Lenny the Landcruiser.

Here he is in Brighton with his South African roof tent on full display.

Unlike us, Lenny has already been on a long road trip. In 2017-18 he was shipped to South Africa and took a year to travel through East and West African countries, coming back to Brighton in July 2018.

Lenny’s owner took us through all the exciting stuff that Lenny can do, and showed us how to set up the winch and high lift jack (hoping we’ll never have to use either) as well as set up the roof tent, impressively easy and quick.

We’re delighted to be taking Lenny on another trip. Having no car and no knowledge of cars, we now feel like Jeremy Clarkson knowing about 4×4, diff lock, winches and hydraulic jacks.
